Planadas is an isolated volcanic area, nestled between two national parks. Coffee transportation is notoriously difficult, taking 12 hours of driving on dirt roads to reach the capital of the province.
Despite these challenges, this is a great place to grow coffee. With fertile volcanic soil, and altitudes up to 2,000 metres above sea level, coffees from Planadas have a jammy sweetness, along with the chocolatey body typical of Colombian coffees. Whether you're team espresso or team filter, Planadas has something to offer everyone.
We've sourced this coffee from The Green Collection, whose 'boots-on-the-ground' approach to sourcing coffee gives us some of our closest links to coffee producers.

Notes from the team:
For us, Colombian coffees make one word spring to mind every time - jammy. While they often have red fruit notes, like redcurrants and cherries, the way that Colombian coffees behave in the roaster often mean that these fruit flavours are more like cooked, stewed fruits.
We have sourced this coffee from The Green Collection, who we have formed a great relationship with in the last couple of years. It’s great to be able to work so directly with organisations like this, knowing that the steps back to farm level are minimal - leading to better prices paid to coffee farmers.
